In 1978 George Appleton founded Appleton Chassis. He built chassis for many late models and one day decided to build a rack and pinion for one of his new cars. The rack and pinion that he built was very popular among drivers and had a high demand. After many years of building chassis for late models George decided to concentrate more on the rack and pinion assembly itself. Soon after Appleton Rack & Pinion was incorporated.
