While covering a story on MTV’s new series “Pimp My Ride” at the world-renowned
aftermarket shop West Coast Customs, the KTLA Morning News van was treated to a
special hookup—Audiobahn style. The van was spotlighted on the KTLA Morning News
today during the 8am hour. What was once a plain looking, beat-up van built for
the everyday abuses of covering Los Angeles news stories is now a power-packed
west coast ride showing-off some hefty Audiobahn product.
The boys at West Coast Customs gave KTLA the royal treatment by upping
the van’s sound system with a pair of 15-inch Audiobahn AW1506T Flame Q
Subwoofers, an ABC6002Q component system, an A2150 HCT High Current Amp and
capacitors to keep the upgrades sounding just right.
Glimmering
chrome, blue neon and the trademarked Audiobahn flames lace the news van and
give it some much-needed west coast personality to keep the KTLA reporters’
heads bobbin’ through the streets of Southern Cali.
“We had to make sure this van would rock,” says West Coast Custom’s “Mad”
Mike Martin. With 1200 watts of pure Audiobahn power and a set of top-quality
speakers, mission accomplished. And since KTLA wanted the van’s interior to look
as flashy as its exterior, special blue illuminated lighting was added to lend
some colorful flavor.
Audiobahn is proud to represent KTLA’s new pimped-out news ride. This season, West Coast Customs will be
hard at work resurrecting rides for the MTV original series premiering tonight
at 10:30pm (ET/PT). Tune in to see more Audiobahn products on MTV. And keep an
