Now, those with late model (1987 and newer) Small Block Chevrolet hydraulic roller camshaft-equipped engines can benefit from the newest line of COMP Cams Thumpr Cams. First generation hydraulic roller Thumpr Camshafts were retro-fit versions for early model factory flat tappet-equipped engines. This new line of late model engine Thumpr Camshafts was built specifically for engines originally equipped with hydraulic roller camshafts, including many popular GM small block crate engines.
COMP Cams Thumpr Camshafts are designed to dramatically improve the exhaust sound of your engine while also providing significant horsepower improvements. Three unique Thumpr Cam profiles are available for Small Block Chevy engines: the Thumpr, Mutha’ Thumpr and Big Mutha’ Thumpr. Designed only for carbureted engines, the newest Thumpr Camshafts fit 1987 and newer Small Block Chevy hydraulic roller camshaft engines as denoted by the smaller diameter bolt pattern, single chain timing system and “recessed edge” front face of the camshaft.
