These Bestop oversize tire carriers offer the convenience of tailgate-mount tire carriers with the big-tire capacity of swing-away models. They utilize load-bearing mounting brackets, which bolt to the strong substructure of your Jeep, while a second set of non-load-bearing brackets attaches to the tailgate. These brackets, along with a unique articulating mechanism, make the tailgate and tire carrier open and close as a single unit, and give them a hefty load rating of 200 lbs. The oversize tire carriers adjust to accommodate up to 35 in. tires, while their black powdercoated finish helps protect the heavy-duty tubular steel against corrosion. Some drilling is required.
