Part must be permanently attached by either welding or using conventional collector tabs. These mufflers are designed for dragsters altereds and roadsters.For race applications only not for street use.This part is for race applications only and is not emissions-legal.Since the dreaded muffler rule is coming to more and more classes it makes sense to run a muffler proven to reduce sound and free up horsepower. Ideal for dragsters and roadsters the fully welded XR-1 collector muffler is made from T-304 stainless steel and replaces the 4 into 1 collector on your headers. The XR-1 is also suited to sprint cars and other circle track classes that have room for it. If you run an Econo/bracket style dragster you can get the XR-1 attached to a stainless steel header. This upswept design is mandrel bent from the same stainless steel as the muffler. The header/muffler combo is available for small and big Chevy.
