e Roller timing chain sets have three keyways to ensure accurate timing for early or late-model vehicles and to allow you to set cam timing 4 degrees advanced 4 degrees retarded or stock. However 50-state (stock replacement) sets have single keyways. Edelbrock Performer-Link True Roller timing chain sets are not for use above 6 500 rpm.
Accu-Drive gear drives are not recommended for use above 7000 rpm or on computer-controlled vehicles with knock sensors.
On some late model engine blocks it will be necessary to check the clearance behind cam gear at the engine block at the 12 oclock position. Make sure the gear clears the oil galley bosses on the block when in the most rearward position. You may have to grind or machine the block for the correct clearance.
Will not fit engines with a factory hydraulic roller cam.
This Edelbrock Accu-Drive gear drive won stretch or wear out. It provides up to eight degrees of cam timing adjustment in two degree increments has offset bushings for easy cam indexing and SAE 8620 steel gears that operate at higher rpms. This Accu-Drive will fit under your stock timing cover and has that gear whine sound we all love. Minor machining to the engine block may be required.
The Accu-Drive camshaft gear drive kit replaces a stock timing chain with a precision gear drive system. Just replace the stock crank and camshaft sprockets with Accu-Drive gear and slip in the idler assembly. The Accu-Drive gear drive system transmits power from the crankshaft gear to a full floating main idler which drives the camshaft gear.
