This distributor is designed for Chevrolet V8 racing engines using crankshaft triggered ignitions and tunnel rams or injection setups that require a low profile distributor. The unique design of this distributor fits tight intake systems and has the ability to prevent crossfire and ionization while transferring high voltage to the spark plug terminal. The high voltage capabilities are the result of several features designed into the distributor. These features include a large diameter cap with wide spaced terminals and an injection molded Rynite rotor with thick vanes to stir up the air inside the cap to prevent arcing. Since this distributor is used primarily for racing it has an oversized steel shaft.
