Description: Our MSD timing computers are faster more accurate and more flexible than mechanical advances. They replace the weights and springs inside your distributor effectively locking out mechanical advance. The MSD computers can also be used as a high speed retard for extra mph and to prevent detonation especially when using nitrous oxide. When you hit a switch the computer automatically retards timing a specified amount of degrees controlled by plug-in retard modules. Two three and four degree modules are included. The timing computers can be used on four six or eight cylinder engines with MSDs 5 6 7 8 and 10 series ignitions crank triggers or locked rotor or distributor less ignition systems.
This model has a preprogrammed timing curve. When you start the car the computer retards timing 20 degrees from full advance for easy starting and smooth idle. As engine speed increases the computer advances the timing until full advance is reached at 3000 rpm.(minimize)
