They're made in both fixed and adjustable static-pressure configurations, incorporating explosion-resistant plates made of steel or aluminum, plus features such as chrome-vanadium springs, heavy-duty covers, and high-strength hardware. RAM makes the three major types of pressure plates: Diaphragm, with its reasonable pedal pressures and quick, clean releases; and the more heavily competition-oriented Borg & Beck and Long styles.
