TRD Performance Air Filters are designed with a deeper pleat than other filters. Deeper pleats increase filter media surface, which provides more air passages reducing airflow restriction while maintaining filtration efficiency. The chosen filter media consists of four plies of specially treated medical-grade cotton gauze that is placed between two layers of epoxy-coated aluminum screen mesh. This completes the ultimate solution for providing maximum engine protection while preventing horsepower-robbing air restriction. Even under extreme conditions, this unique pleat geometry filters damaging dirt particles without clogging, resulting in less pressure drop across the filter throughout the life of the cleaning cycle
